working copy locked

i've got a multi-threaded sort of use and i'm getting lots of 'working copy locked' when i interrupt a thread that is doing a checkout.

is there some trick/whatever that i can do to interrupt a checkout and not get this locked state? can i clear it somehow? can i detect it?

should I call client.Cleanup(dir) ? or will that also result in the locked error?

LOL i think a cleanup was not the way to go

i got

Additional information: Write-lock stolen in 'd:mypath\'

now :)

appreciate any comments on the best way to solve this. i hope the answer is not 'just don't interrupt updates' ...
